Paralegal - Real Estate

RESPONSIBILITIES
Conveyancing from start to finish, requiring in depth experience with sale, purchase, refinancing and mortgages, ability to draft documents, registration and or discharge at Land Titles, ability to prioritize a heavy work load, excellent communication skills.
Supporting transactions up to the closing, including preparing and managing all documents and media required for closings, flagging documents for signature, preparing letters, managing sub-files and organizing closing books.
Proofreading documents and checking for appropriate formatting, spelling, grammar and clarity.
Drafting of agreements, contracts and financing documents.
Manage trust accounting and reporting.
Produce a high quality and quantity of work product.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 2 years of experience as a Real Estate Legal Assistant/Paralegal.
Solid computer knowledge (Microsoft Office Suite) and ability to keep up-to-date with changes in technology and latest information. Experience with or ability to quickly learn other software.
Capacity to identify, understand, meet and/or exceed the needs and expectations of internal and external clients in a timely manner.
Ability to work effectively with others to achieve mutual goals.
Commitment to setting, achieving and/or exceeding individual, team, or firm goals.
Able to prioritize and to redefine priorities when necessary.
Experience in Corporate Commercial, Will and Estate law is an asset.

The ideal candidate will want to be hands on with the clients and be driven to build a career. You must work well with a team, while at the same time be able to complete tasks independently. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 0-5 years experience who wants to be part of our growing team.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Greet clients, staff and visitors in a friendly, professional, and courteous manner
Assist members of staff as required
Office cleanliness and organization
Perform clerical and administrative duties such as phone reception, reviewing and routing incoming and outgoing communications
Preparing and processing outgoing mail and faxes; filing (electronic and paper) and arranging for specialized mail or messenger services as required
Transcribing and typing legal documents and letters
QUALIFICATIONS
A passion for providing exceptional client service
Commitment to setting, achieving and/or exceeding individual, team, or firm goals
High level of expertise and proficiency in word processing
Capacity to identify, understand, meet and/or exceed the needs and expectations of internal and external clients in a timely manner
Solid computer knowledge (Microsoft Office Suite) and ability to keep up-to-date with changes in technology and latest information. Experience with or ability to quickly learn other software (legal software, client database, etc.).
Able to produce a high quality and quantity of work product, occasionally under tight timelines
Ability to work effectively with others (e.g., team members, co-workers, supervisors, clients, etc.) to achieve mutual goals
Ability to work effectively within a variety of situations, readily adapting to change
Able to prioritize and to redefine priorities when necessary
